Celebrating local art

We hope you have had a great week, the sun is shining and the temperature is rising, which can only mean one thing… summer is approaching!

This week we will be looking at local art and activities in Corby for the older generation. Corby is great for young people, but there are also lots of activities and things to do for the older generation too!

Over 65’s fun

Made in Corby received a grant from the ScottishPower foundation for a year-long programme creating a range of activities for over 65’s starting on May 1st 2019. These will include free visual arts, craft, photography, dance music and theatre workshops.

The workshops will be held at the Corby Library and two other residential settings.

This is a great opportunity for the over 65’s to get involved with local artists,  create a new hobby or revisit an old one! To find out more information and how you can get involved visit: https://www.madeincorby.co.uk/

Track sound

We thought we should give a little mention to this fantastic project that is currently underway.

Track sound is an eclectic project aiming to establish and celebrate the role of music as a language, restoring stound tracks as a story telling device.

This event is the first guest project at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art’s, The Arches. Visit the Love Corby website to find out more: https://lovecorby.co.uk/view-event/153/fermynwoods-contemporary-art

It’s a fantastic project and we are extremely lucky it is happening so close by, so we need to make sure to visit and show our support.
