Introducing Spirit, Body and Mind
Meet Lisa Tye, she owns Spirit, Body and Mind, a calm and welcoming business that offers the highest quality, holistic treatments. When we spoke with Lisa, she told us all about Spirit, Body and Mind and why these treatments can really make a difference in today’s world.
So, Lisa, how long have you owned your business?
I have owned Spirit, Body and Mind for a year and a half, being so new means lots of people are yet to discover me! I currently run my business from home.
How long have you lived and worked in Oakley Vale?
I have been here nearly two and a half years, with a move back from Suffolk. We came back to Northamptonshire for work reasons as my husband worked in Corby previously. When we saw the house and the area, we fell in love with Corby once again.
Can you tell us about your business – what made you start it? What services do you provide?
I know that my life purpose is to help others and I chose to facilitate sessions using different therapies to support clients with their stress, anxiety or depression.
These aspects of mental health are close to my heart as I have experienced all of these at different points in my life.
As a 14-year-old, I experienced Reflexology (working points on the feet or hands to support body, mind, emotional and spiritual balance) by being a case study for someone. I didn’t know anything about it, but I did know that I felt relaxed and calmer after each session and found myself looking forward to the next one.
Later in my life, I felt drawn back to Reflexology and wanted to train. I had already studied Reiki (energy healing) and found a deeper sense of calm and contentment with this, so I offer this to my clients as well.
I also have a deep love of working with children, having worked in education for 19 years, and I offer treatments to support their stresses. It makes me so sad knowing that mental health issues have risen significantly in children. No foot is too small, as babies enjoy my Tiny Toes Baby Reflexology and Massage classes!
How can people find your business?
Well I work from home, so people can find my details at my website – www.spiritbodyandmind.co.uk. I also have a Facebook page too!
What do you enjoy about living and working in Oakley Vale?
I love being in such a quiet location but still near enough to a town for easy access to pubs and shopping. You can take walks to the lakes or to the woods behind us too. People in Corby are friendly and open, it has been a pleasure living and working here.
If you could describe Oakley Vale in five words, what would they be?
Forward thinking, community spirited, home
