Spring Fun

March is here and with it comes spring, a time of transformation and change. Flowers bloom, animals awaken and temperatures slowly rise – meaning there are new things to do and see in Oakley Vale!

This month, we also welcomed World Book Day and Oakley Vale Primary Academy celebrated in style with children dressing up as their favourite words and book characters! The literary fun doesn’t end there either, because World Poetry Day is around the corner on the 21st of March and you can bet that our schools will be taking part in that too. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates, news and pictures.

Your Oakley Vale Video

As you may remember, last month, we told you about us creating a ‘Welcome’ video to Oakley Vale. Well, now we want your help – we are specifically looking for people who:

  • Run a community class in the area
  • Enjoy walking/dog-walking in nearby parks or green spaces
  • Moved to Oakley Vale and would be happy to be interviewed or filmed
  • Own or run a shop, business or service in the area

If that sounds like you, please do get in touch with our colleagues via email – or via Facebook and Twitter – and we can see how you might be able to get involved in the latest addition to our website – after all, it’s you that makes Oakley Vale great!

Photo Competition

Finally, we can now announce that our photo competition is CLOSED for new entries. Congratulations to all our fantastic finalists! You can see their shots below:

We now need your help by voting for your favourite picture that really captures the spirit of life in Oakley Vale!

You can vote by heading to our photo competition page, choosing your favourite and clicking the thumbs up button on whichever photo you like best. We will pick the winner at the end of March so there is not long left to cast your vote!

All that’s left to say is that we hope you have a great rest of the month as we make our way into Spring!
