June has arrived in Oakley Vale, bringing with it an excitement and familiar nostalgic warmth that we only seem to feel at the start of summer.

There’s something special about this time of year – a feeling that mirrors the long, golden days of summer past. To help you create new memories this season, we’ve put together a brilliant lineup of local events – from our favourite music festivals and Corby Pride to the summer’s biggest sporting fixtures.
We’re also celebrating local nature success and reflecting on the brilliant turnout at the Mayor’s Charity Ball in this month’s edition.
So, grab an ice lolly, find a sunny spot, and enjoy our look at everything happening across the community this month.
Firstly, share your feedback, Oakley Vale!
Mayor’s Charity Ball raises over £2,000!
We’re thrilled to share the recent success of the Mayor of Corby’s Charity Ball, which took place at the start of May.
The event was a wonderful demonstration of local solidarity, bringing together leaders, community supporters, friends, and family.
Guests enjoyed live entertainment from The Raven House Band, which helped create a brilliant atmosphere, with Mayor, Cllr Callum Reilly joining on his trumpet for a few songs.
Most importantly, the evening raised over £2,000 for Cllr Reilly’s chosen charities, Lakelands Hospice and Home-Start Corby. It’s exactly this kind of proactive community engagement that makes Oakley Vale such a supportive place to live.
A shout-out must go to supporters and local businesses who took part in ticket sales, raffle entries, and donations.
