Welland Gliding Club

Found in the heart of Northeast Northamptonshire between Corby and Oundle, the Welland Gliding Club offers an unforgettable experience and outstanding views of the rolling countryside. The club provides lessons if you are interested in becoming a pilot.

Savoy Cinema

The £6 million Savoy cinema, which opened in 2015, seats up to 900 people. There are a number of restaurants also located within the building including Nandos and Prezzo.

Corby Cube

The Corby Cube, opened in 2010, is a state-of-the-art concrete and glass civic centre boasting a 445-seat theatre, public library, register office and a new council chamber. The Core theatre has a programme of live productions, dance, music and standup comedy. It also screens films twice a week, including current mainstream and independent releases.

Charter Court

Oakley Vale’s shopping district is conveniently located on Butland Road, meaning you don’t need to leave the area to run errands. The services available at Charter Court include a Tesco Extra, a dentist, a pharmacy and various fast food outlets.

Willow Place

This £40 million modern shopping and leisure environment has free Wi-Fi for shoppers and 1000 car parking spaces ensuring easy access. Willow Place is home to over 120 shops, including many big name brands, plus bars, restaurants and coffee shops.

Rockingham Forest

Comprising of about 200 square miles, Rockingham Forest is a must-see natural area of Northamptonshire. The forest is varied with pockets of ancient woodland, open farmland and villages. See if you can spot a red kite on your visit.

Rockingham Motor Speedway

A great day out for the whole family can be had attending an event at Rockingham Speedway. Watch supercars racing in the British GT and future F1 stars in the BRDC F3 Championship. Children aged 15 and under go free.

Wicksteed Park

Having first opened over a century ago, Wicksteed Park is a fantastic place for all the family to enjoy. Located in nearby Kettering, the park boasts 30 rides and attractions from zip lines to the classic monorail. The famous narrow gauge railway takes you on a scenic journey around the park grounds.

Adrenaline Alley

Skate, scooter or BMX your way across 120,000ft2 of ramps at Adrenaline Alley, the UK’s largest indoor street sport facility. This fantastic social enterprise is a great place for kids to hang out while parents watch from the comfort of the café.

Local Football

The Oakley Vale FC under 15’s football team trains on Saturday mornings on Butland Road during the season.

The Great Oakley Cricket Club is always looking to sign up new members. Home to both adult and junior cricket teams, watching a match is a great way to get in the community spirit.

Traditional Pub

Oakley Vale’s local pub is Harpers Brook, part of the Marston’s group. Offering patrons great deals on food including a Sunday carvery, this family-friendly venue has an excellent beer garden to enjoy in the warmer months.

Great Oakley Park

A historic rural area of Northamptonshire, Great Oakley Park is connected to Oakley Vale by a public footpath. It’s perfect for a Sunday stroll through fields populated by a flock of Jacob sheep.

Oakley Vale has been designed to include hills and slopes, lakes and green areas to enjoy. Take a relaxing weekend or after-work wander around one of Oakley Vale’s picturesque lakes, which are popular with birds and local wildlife. Fishing is also permitted on the lakes.

Oakley Vale Community Centre

Located on Butland Road, the Community Centre holds weekly Pilates sessions, dance classes for children and adults and free music lessons. It is also home to the St Benedict’s church group which holds a Sunday service here every week.

Oakley Vale Play Area on Butland Road and Snatchill Play Area on Merestone Road cater for children of all ages. These well-equipped play parks will keep kids amused for hours.
