As the sound of leather on willow echoing around fields draws to a close at the end of the cricket season, we take a look at the current range of sporting excellence being achieved across the fine county of Northamptonshire.
Oakley Vale proudly sits in a county which is capturing the eye of the nation for it’s teams sporting prowess.
Northamptonshire Cricket County Club won the Natwest T20 Blast this summer with star player Ben Duckett since being called up by England to tour Bangladesh and India.

Northampton Town Football Club was in the national limelight this week when Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United visited Sixfields for the third round of the EFL Cup. Despite being level until the hour mark, Manchester United eventually ran out 3 1 winners, with Marcus Rashford coming off the bench to score the winner. Great exposure for the town.
The Rugby Union season has also kicked off and Northampton Saints sit in mid table after three games and will be hoping for a win against Wasps at Franklin’s Gardens tomorrow, when new Tongan signing Nafi Tuitavake is expected to debut.
