We’re well into January now, and well into this New Year. We hope the year has started well for all of you. This week has seen the start of #snowmageddon – or perhaps #lightflurrymageddon – either way the snow is here a little late, but that shouldn’t hamper any of your plans over the next week. Here’s a round-up of the best things coming up:
- The Oakley Vale Community Association meets next Wednesday 18th January at the Oakley Vale Community Centre. All are welcome to attend and Andrew Sampson from the Corby Borough Council will be giving an update on local biodiversity plans.
- A new series of Corby Arts Podcasts have been commissioned, which has enabled Oakley Vale-based media trainees to produce bi-monthly broadcasts. Get in touch with us if you have any arts news
- Made in Corby are planning another crafty ‘Big Day’ and want your help deciding what activities to do – visit their Facebook here to vote!
- Local musician Matt Stevenson is performing an evening of music from blues to easy listening at The Lab @ The Core tomorrow (Sat 14th). Find out more here.
- A Dementia-friendly screening of the classic, Guys & Dolls, will be on at the Corby Cube next Wednesday (18th) so take a look at the link here to find out more and book tickets!
- Next Thursday (19th) there will be a talk (over tea, coffee and cake!) about Corby’s Woods in the Global Context – It’s sure to be really interesting and you can find out more and book tickets (£5.50 or £3.50 concession) here.
- What music reminds you of your homeland? Paula Boulton’s recently composed orchestral suite, The Sounds Of Home, is inspired by Corby people’s responses to that question. You can hear the piece performed next Saturday (21st) – find out more.
