A big Happy Friday to all, it’s time for another Oakley Vale round-up! February is here and we’re starting to think that maybe Spring does exist. Not only that but it’s a special sporting weekend, with the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament and our friends over the pond getting ready for the Superbowl – which might make for some bleary eyes on Monday.
Some of you might be looking at a bet or two with all this sporting action – let’s hope you can do as well as Corby local John Walters who won over £130,000 on a bet recently!
Our own sporting team, Great Oakley Cricket Club are preparing for a different kind of party. Their Oompah Night is taking place this evening from 8pm. Tickets are £10 so why not head down for a night of beer, music and maybe even some lederhosen! The Great Oakley group are a proud partner of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club; sponsoring the under 13s team. We can’t wait for the new season to start!
In other news, a development of new 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses is headed to Oakley Vale. We’ll be updating our website over the next week with what information is available, so keep an eye here and on our social media channels. For now, you can read more here.
As you may or may not know, also coming to Oakley Vale is a new sculpture that is being designed by artist and sculptor Richard Janes. You can watch an interview with Richard on our Facebook page here where he talks about the ideas and inspiration behind his design!
As usual there are a host of events and clubs taking place at the Oakley Vale Community Centre over the next week. You can find a full schedule on their website – here.
Don’t forget if you want to put the message out about your own group or club, or if you’re looking for any other information, just message on our Facebook, Twitter or by email at: info@wpe.spd.agency.
