Great Oakley Estates has committed itself to sport in the area by renewing its sponsorship with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club’s youth team.
Cricket is played widely in Northamptonshire, and the county’s one-day team, the Northants Steelbacks, are the current national Twenty20 Cup champions.
It was a successful season for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club with star player Ben Duckett going on to represent England and it is hoped this triumph will be replicated in the 2017 season.
Great Oakley Estate sponsored the county’s U12s team last year in a show of commitment to sport in the local community. It will now continue this backing of the squad by sponsoring the under 13s for the new season.
Jack Mousley, Partnership Manager at Northants County Cricket, said: “We are incredibly excited to once again Partner with Great Oakley Estates – the area has a proud history of cricket and it is great to know they care about the sport within their community.
“Sponsorship goes a long way in helping us achieve our objective of providing cricket for everyone in Northamptonshire, with the County Age Group sides being a key part in producing professional cricketers not just for NCCC but for England as well.”
A spokesman for the Estate added: “We’re thrilled to be cementing our partnership with Northants County Cricket Club for another year. They provide a great system and structure to nurture young talent – and the U13s is a great example of this.
“Getting children involved sport at an early can not only give them great benefits to their physical health, but also to their mental and social well-being. We’ll be following the team closely throughout the next season!”
