Last Call for Votes & Scottish Heritage!

Happy Friday everyone!

The week’s are really flying by aren’t they – we’re already coming towards the end of June!

We want to focus this week’s blog on a final call out for votes on our Photo Competition! We’ve had our submissions and now it’s time to decide who is going to win the £50 prize.

Voting is very simple – but in case you need a reminder here’s how you do it:

  • Visit our Photo Competition page – here
  • Scroll down and you’ll see the selection of submissions
  • Over each photo you’ll see a thumbs up button and an option to share it.
  • Click the thumbs up and you’re done! Your vote has been cast.

It’s as easy as that – so get voting!

What’s On?

In other news we have a packed ‘What’s On’ schedule coming up – with a particular focus on Scottish/Highland events! Corby of course is home to a rich Scottish heritage – which is well worth exploring. Take a look at what’s coming up:

The Kilkennys @ The Core – Sat 23rd June – Hailing from a city steeped in music, history and folk culture, they play a mixture of traditional Irish folk songs and new songs of their own. Robbie, Davey, Tommy and Mick are meticulous craftsmen who pour their hearts into their music. Get tickets!

Cider & Sausage Festival – Sat 30th June – Sun 1st July – In addition to the food market and street food section there will be a feast of entertainment, including live music, large selection of cider and a number of fairground rides for younger visitors. Find out more.

An Evening Celebration of Scottish Culture – Sat 30th June – This is our celebration of Scottish culture… and the first culmination event in our ground-breaking 2-year “Changing Corby” project. 7pm – 8.15pm: Performance Sharing 8.15pm – 10pm: Ceilidh, with food and refreshments. Find out more.

Corby Highland Gathering: 50 Years Exhibition – Sat 30th June – Sat 6th October – Corby Highland Gathering is celebrating 50 years of Highland Dance competitions and all things associated with the Scottish tradition of a gathering.  Corby Heritage Centre will have artefacts and history telling the story of Corby’s cultural links to this fascinating event.

Please be advised that weekdays, the opening times are 1 – 4pm, Saturdays 11am – 2pm (closed Sundays and Bank Holidays)

Have a great weekend!
