Happy Friday everyone!
We want to start our blog this week by giving another congratulations to our latest Photo Competition winner, Jill Raher, who received her £50 prize money this week.
Jill informed us that the money is going towards a memorial tree for their dog – who loved walks around Oakley Vale ?
? I think we can all agree that’s a lovely use of the prize money!
Don’t forget we are currently open for submissions to our new Photo Competition – find all the details below and submit here:
Theme – Summertime & Animals of Oakley Vale
Submission deadline – September 30th
Winner announced (after voting period) – October
The History of Oakley Vale
One of the aspects of our Oakley Vale website we have long wanted to establish is a history of the site. As creating the estate you see today actually involved a huge undertaking on the part of civil engineers and constructors in one of the largest movements of Earth in Europe!
Now while we carry out our own research we thought we would put the word out to you for your help!
If you perhaps lived in Corby before Oakley Vale was created – or were one of the first to move into the development – we would love to hear for you. We want to know what the place was like, do you recall Oakley Vale being created? Do you have photos?
Send us your insights and thoughts – big or small – to our Facebook or Twitter pages along with any photos you might have!
You’ll be featured as a contributor in our website!
