As November draws to a close and the run-up to Christmas begins, it’s time to get into the winter spirit. What better way than to take some snaps for our Winter in Oakley Vale photo competition?

Submissions are now open for our winter-themed photography competition. Send in your pictures of snowy-scenes, beautiful birds or the fast-approaching winter nights.
The chosen winner will be rewarded with a £50 prize – see last season’s winner here – and a further £50 donation will be made to the Oakley Vale Community Association when the prize is announced.
The deadline for entries is Friday 18th January 2019, and the winner will be announced after the voting period in February 2019.

Modular Homes – Britain’s Future?
This week we would like to draw your attention to a fascinating article, focusing on the production of modular homes in the UK. The need for new homes in the UK is far from secret, and a new factory opening in Yorkshire hope to tackle the crisis by producing pre-fabricated modular homes. Whilst the homes aren’t currently available for purchase by individuals, it is certainly an interesting step towards tackling the housing crisis facing the nation.

SHAPE Dance @ The Core – Sat 1st and Sun 2nd December – Corby Borough Council’s SHAPE Dance group will be showing its fantastic annual Christmas Show this weekend at The Core. Over 350 dancers who attend weekly classes throughout the Borough, including a class in Oakley Vale are looking forward to their dance extravaganza. Grab your tickets now!
