December is here!

Happy Friday everyone!

December is upon us again, and that means the nights are getting truly chilly and Christmas is just around the corner!

We want to spend this week’s blog highlighting some events coming up across this month:

Social Network Christmas Dinner

A festive evening full of fun and merriment! This event is taking place at The Old Bakery Tea Rooms, Weekley. The price of ticket includes a 3 course meal and 2 glasses of wine. There will be music, chatter and laughter – it’s a great way to spend an evening networking in a fun social environment! Find out more here.

WWI: The War To End All Wars Exhibition

2018 marks 100 years since the end of WWI. Corby Heritage Centre’s exhibition space will be filled with a touring exhibition from Epping Forest Museum, there will be a display with silhouettes of soldiers at prayer in the trenches and objects from the frontline. The exhibition will be available in Corby Heritage Centre into 2019.

Beauty and The Beast @ The Core

In this performance, New International Encounter have created a rustic re-telling of the classic French fairy tale, full of live music, fun and magic direct from a three week run in New York. Beauty And The Beast has played to over 22,000 people in Cambridge and Bristol already and is now headed to Corby. Find out more here.

 

Get Snapping!

Don’t forget that submissions are open for our winter-themed photography competition. Send in your pictures of snowy-scenes, beautiful birds or the fast-approaching winter nights.

The chosen winner will be rewarded with a £50 prize – see last season’s winner here – and a further £50 donation will be made to the Oakley Vale Community Association when the prize is announced.

The deadline for entries is Friday 18th January 2019, and the winner will be announced after the voting period in February 2019.
