Happy New Year Oakley Vale!

Happy Friday everybody, and welcome to 2019!

We hope everyone had a wonderful festive period and a happy new year. Now that the kids are back to school and the big kids are back to work, we thought it would be a good idea to let you know about a few family days out to liven up your January without breaking the bank.

Fineshade Wood

At just a 20-minute drive from Oakley Vale, Fineshade Wood is a guaranteed great day out for the family. With play areas, walking and cycling trails, including the brand-new Highway Rat Activity Trail, a picnic area and a café, there is something for everyone.

Entry to Fineshade Wood is free although parking charges do apply.

East Carlton Country Park

Situated on the edge of Welland Valley, the East Carlton Countryside Park offers a beautiful location to walk, explore and learn about the history of Corby in the Heritage Centre. Dogs are welcome and parking is free!

East Carlton Countryside Park has a range of play areas, a picnic area and a café too – a hot chocolate might be needed after a winter walk.

Photo Competition

Whilst you are enjoying your walks or bike rides, why not snap a few pictures?

If you take a great photo and want to share it, send it in for a chance to win a £50 prize! Once our winner is chosen, £50 will also be donated to the Oakley Vale Community Association.

The deadline for entries is only two weeks away! From Friday 18th January, you will be able to vote on your favourite pictures and the winner will be announced in February.

Visit the Photo Competition page now to submit your snaps.
