Happy Friday everyone!
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and we have a busy blog for you today, with a couple of key updates involving our community.
Brooke Weston Trust success recognised
Government figures on secondary school performance, based on Progress 8 scores for the past two years, shows that The Brooke Weston Trust is the third most improved Multi-Academy Trust in the country! Which is amazing news.
The Progress 8 score tracks students to establish their level of progress, measuring their grades at the end of primary school with their GCSEs outcomes at secondary level. Using this measure as an indicator of performance The Brooke Weston Trust has significantly progressed up the league table for MAT performance.
The Brooke Weston Trust maintains a number of schools in the region – including two in Oakley Vale: Brooke Weston Academy and Oakley Vale Primary School. So this is great news for all of us in the area – both those who have lived here and seen the schools progress and those joining us in new homes.
Photo Competition – Voting now open!
Our second update this week comes from our latest Photo Competition. We extended our deadline last week and accepted submissions up until Wednesday. We want to thank all those who submitted – there’s some great photos and it’s a testament to the hidden talents in our community!
Now that we have our entries, it’s time for you to vote for your favourite photo to be our winner and take home our £50 prize! This is alongside a £50 donation to the Oakley Vale Community Association.
In order to vote, simply visit our Photo Competition page and click the thumbs up button on your favourite picture. Next week we will be posting all of the photos that were submitted on our social media and we’ll be taking into account all likes/shares into the voting process.
Our winner will be announced in February along with our next Photo Competition theme.
Until then have a great weekend!
