Happy Friday everyone,
As always, we hope your week has been productive and without too much stress! We managed to make it through the first cold snap of the year reasonably unharmed – so perhaps you’ll be venturing out of the house in the next few days and weeks. In which case we’ve got a few events for you to keep an eye out for in the area in this week’s blog.
Artist residencies near Oakley Vale
Did you make a resolution to focus more on your creative practice this year? Fermynwoods is accepting statements of interest from artists, writers, photographers and anyone looking for a peaceful, rural self-funded residency location. Sudborough Green Lodge is a remote building set in the Northamptonshire countryside as a Centre for Research + Education. The Lodge consists of 2 small, joined cottages in the middle of Fermyn Woods, near the village of Brigstock. The Lodge is only accessible by car via a 3-mile hard-core surfaced track, off Harley Way, or via a 3-mile bridle path from Fermyn Woods Country Park. Self-funded residencies include use of their small on-site black and white photographic film darkroom.
Sounds like an amazing opportunity to us! Has it peaked your interest? Find out more on their website: http://fermynwoods.org/residencies/.

Photo Competition – Votes, votes, votes!
So, as you may know, this month we will be announcing the winner of the Photo Competition. As mentioned in the last blog post, voting is now open so remember to check out the competition on our website to cast your vote on who deserves to be our winner.
There are some very artistic submissions and definitely some worthy winners who showcase the talent amongst our community. However, we still need your votes to help us decide who will be our February winner of the £50 prize, alongside the £50 donation to our Oakley Vale Community Association.
In order to vote, simply visit our Photo Competition page and click the thumbs up button on your favourite picture.
Last but not least, keep your eyes peeled for our new photo-competition that will be announced at the end of this month!
Have a great weekend!
