Happy Friday everyone!
We hope you’re well and looking forward to a sunny and unseasonably warm weekend this weekend! Today’s blog focuses on a couple of key updates.
Last chance for Oakley Vale Photo Competition
Voting for our Oakley Vale Photo Competition will come to an end next Wednesday, 27th February! That means you have less than a week to get those final votes in!
After this we will compile all of the votes and announce our winner on Thursday 28th February. They will be the deserved winner of our £50 prize – and as always, we will also be making a £50 donation to the Oakley Vale Community Association for their great work in the community.
Our next theme for the Photo Competition will be Spring in Oakley Vale – we’ve actually already had some photos sent in since we closed the last competition, so these will be included in the latest iteration.
With the warm weather set for this weekend, it might be the perfect chance to get that early submission in!
Strong results bolster Brooke Weston Trust
You may have caught the news on our blog last week, but there was some very positive news for Brooke Weston Trust recently, which looks after (among others) Brooke Weston Academy.
Government figures on secondary school performance, based on Progress 8 scores for the past two years, shows that The Brooke Weston Trust is the third most improved Multi-Academy Trust in the country.
The Progress 8 score tracks students to establish their level of progress, measuring their grades at the end of primary school with their GCSEs outcomes at secondary level. Using this measure as an indicator of performance The Brooke Weston Trust has significantly progressed up the league table for MAT performance. In 2016 it was ranked in the 95th percentile. This climbed to 66th percentile the following year and has now reached the 37th in 2018. The Brooke Weston Trust is now ranked 32 out of 85 MATS across the country with a Progress 8 score of 0.05.
Have a great weekend!
