Well today is officially the first day of summer- the summer solstice! Luckily enough the weather is holding out and we think we might even be in for some sun this weekend!

How to entertain the children?

Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about the adults! Here are a list of beer gardens and parks you can visit this summer too:

Harpers Brook Pub- In Oakley Vale has an excellent beer garden and lots of daily offers you can take advantage of too!

East Carlton Country Park – Visit the park for a walk, free car parking and cafe open daily selling light refreshments. For the website page view here

Spread Eagle Pub- Just off Oakley Road, lots of lovely food and drinks available and a lovely outdoor seating area

As you may have heard the latest winner of the Oakley Vale Photo Competition was Paul Balmer, for his great photo of the Oakley Vale sculpture.

The next photo competition is focused on Homes in Oakley Vale. We are looking for pictures of your gardens, view from your windows, street views and more- you can be as creative as you wish! The deadline for entries is Friday 16th August .
