The ice creams are out and the sunglasses are on! Summer 2019 is surprisingly… summery!

This week we will be giving you a round up of all the things going on in Corby this month that you can get involved in.

What’s on

Wednesday 10th of July – Join Made in Corby at their next What Next? Corby session on Wednesday 10th July, at the B1 Bar, the Core at Corby Cube. These are regular meetings of individuals that are interested in, and passionate about, the role of arts and culture in our town.

Thursday 11th and Thursday 18th July– Open Access- Whether you’ve got a creative idea, a proposal from your community or simply want to know what they’re up to, a member of the Made in Corby team will be available to chat to you at this Open Access event.

Saturday 27th of July- Grow Festival 2019 – Various locations in Corby Grow Festival 2019 This year’s festival, commissioned by Made in Corby and co-produced by The Core at Corby Cube takes place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July 2019 and will once again animate the town centre with hilarious street performers, magical family pop-up shows and spectacular art, all inspired by the theme of ‘food’ and celebrating all things culinary!

Wednesday 31st of July-The Algorithm in the Forest – Fineshade Woods- A new exhibition that explores where natural systems and human logistics meet. Simon Blackmore, Antony Hall and Steve Symons, the collaborative group of artists known as Owl Project, have been in residence at Fineshade Wood, exploring the forest floor, lifting up logs and looking under stones to film ants going about their business. Using cameras and software to visualise the routes taken by these creatures to render what seems like chaos as pattern. The resulting new work, The Algorithm in the Forest, is a multichannel video and sound installation that explores how natural systems have inspired algorithms that impact how we
