Summer holidays have officially begun… for the children and teachers, unfortunately not for everyone!
We know some parents may have that over whelming fear of ‘how am I going to entertain the children for the next six weeks’, so, we thought we would help you out and put together a long list of activities and events taking place this July.
20th July- Crafternoon in aid of Mind @ Grampian Corby
The inspiration Den are hosting an afternoon of fun which will included crafts, socialising, tea and cake, all in aid of raising vital funds for Mind.
There will be a range of resources to choose and use, creating whatever comes to mind. There will be lots of friendly helpers on hand to assist with your creations. A great day to keep the children (and yourselves!) busy, whilst raising to help support an important cause.
20th July- LEGO Storybook @ Corby Library
Corby Library are welcoming all children aged five and over to a fun-filled LEGO Storybook session to celebrate the Summer Reading Challenge.
Booking is required. To book a place please either: speak to the Corby Library reception team, visit the Facebook Page, email corlib@firstforwellbeing.co.uk or call 0300 126 1000.
21st July- The Tempest @ Deene Park
The world’s firsts cycling theatre company, The HandleBards, pedal from venue to venue with everything they need to put on an environmentally friendly performance across the globe.
The play is about a shipwreck that washes up on a desert island and will include lots of magic, musicality and mystery. It is also an outdoor production so feel free to bring your picnics, blankets and camping chairs to get comfortable.
And if that hasn’t tempted you enough, under 10’s go free!
27th July- Peter Rabbit and Bohemian Rhapsody outdoor cinema @ East Carlton Park
This event is not to be missed! Hosted by A Gift To Lift, is the perfect family outing to either snuggle up with your picnic and watch peter rabbit, or sing you hearts out to Bohemian Rhapsody all whilst being surrounded by the beautiful grounds.
28th- 29th July- Corby Grow Festival
This year’s festival, commissioned by Made in Corby and co-produced by The Core at Corby Cube takes place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July 2019 and will once again animate the town centre with hilarious street performers, magical family pop-up shows and spectacular art, all inspired by the theme of ‘food’ and celebrating all things culinary!
30th July- The Greatest Showman Day @ The Core at Corby Cube
For ages 7-11 there is an exciting opportunity to create the Greatest Showman themed mash-up piece, including all the favourite songs from the film! There will also be a chance for the children to add their own moves and showcase their newly learned skills.
31st July- Breakfast with Pikcahu @ Holiday Inn Corby
Enjoy a full buffet breakfast with a visit from Pikachu! A unique event full of delicious food, fun and games! A great end of school treat for all the Pokémon fans.
Just in case you have forgotten…
Another exciting way to keep the children occupied this summer is by encouraging them to take part in the Oakley Vale Photo Competition! Not only could they be in with the chance of having their photo taking pride place on the Oakley Vale website, but they could also win £50 towards all the toys and ice cream they could dream of!
