Oakley Vale celebrates post-16 success!

Congratulations to all those who collected their A-level results yesterday, what an exciting time for you all and we wish you all the best with whatever you choose to do!

In today’s blog, we will be talking about the exceptional results of the schools near Oakley Vale, in particular, Brooke Weston Academy!

Brooke Weston Academy

It is no surprise that Oakley Vale’s local school, Brooke Weston Academy, are celebrating – after another exceptional year of Post-16 results, with outcomes exceeding all of last year’s headline measures.

85% of students achieved A*- C grades and almost 60% of entries were graded at A*/A/B. Students studying applied qualifications performed exceptionally well, with all students achieving A*-C equivalents in their subjects.

The three top performers all achieved 4 A*/A grades and a further 17 students achieved at least 3A*/As. Almost 90% of leavers are going on to university, 40% to Russell Group destinations to read their chosen subjects.

Principal Pete Kirkbride said, ‘These results are the culmination of an amazing team effort between the students, parents and all of the staff at Brooke Weston Academy. We wish all of our students every success in the future.’

Corby Business Academy

Another popular choice for Oakley Vale residents is Corby Business Academy. 58% of its students were awarded A*- C grades, a 20% leap from last year. Nearly a third of students attained A* – B grades, a 10% jump from last year, and the overall average grade has increased significantly. There were also strong individual performances with one student going to Cambridge.

Corby Technical School

Corby technical school also celebrated fantastic results, with the four highest performers achieving a combined A*, 6 A’s, 4 B’s and a C grade.

These are great results and we look forward to seeing what the GCSE’S results bring to the table next Thursday!
