The Great British Spring Clean returns to Oakley Vale, plus the most wholesome things to do this Easter around Corby
The unfurling of spring can only mean one thing: the Wombles have had a busy month! As the days stretch and the air warms, Corby’s litter-picking group have been taking part in the Great British Spring Clean to make our town beautiful – all in time for Easter in Corby.
Speaking of Easter, if April has sneaked up on you far too quickly and you need some inspiration on how to enjoy the upcoming long weekend and holidays, you’re in the right place. We have the lowdown on everything that’s on in Oakley Vale and around Corby, so you can savour some (hopefully) brighter days in between snacking on all kinds of chocolate eggs this month.
Before we talk spring cleaning and Easter, a Photo Competition update…
We are extending the Photo Competition, ‘Your Eye on Oakley’ until Monday 17th April. That means there is still time to send in a photo for your chance to win £50.
Spend the longer days outside. Take your phone or camera with you and capture the charm that Oakley Vale’s landscape has to offer. It could be your photo shown here!
Corby Wombles and locals have been busy cleaning up the town for the Great British Spring Clean
Everyone who has contributed to the annual campaign in Corby so far deserves a round of applause – and a large glass of wine (or whatever you please) to celebrate a tough slog of litter picking and cleaning.
The Great British Spring Clean is the biggest national clear-up, spearheaded by Keep Britain Tidy. Corby Wombles are a growing group of litter pickers who do their bit to clean up the area and enable Corby to thrive. You can join them in keeping the streets spotless by heading to their Facebook group.
There are lots of events not only during spring but throughout the whole year that encourage Corby to be the flourishing, polished town it always has been – which you can be involved in!
