Wins for Corby’s Sports Teams
Dedication and talent thrives within Corby’s sporting scene! We’re cheering on our local sports team and celebrating their recent triumphs…
Stewart and Lloyds Corby Cricket Club U13s – The U13s team absolutely smashed it in their match against Kettering Town Whites. They won by an impressive 193 runs with Josh Watson being the star of the show as he took 5 wickets. A great performance from the team was accompanied by scoring 148 runs in just 16 overs!
Corby Town Pumas – Last week the Pumas travelled up to Bugbrooke for a tournament. In sweltering conditions, the team performed superbly. They comfortably won their group as they won all 5 games, scoring 10 goals and conceding just one. Into the knockout stages and they continued to impress. A 5-0 win the semi-final set up another final for the Pumas, which they won 4-0. A great achievement for all involved!
What’s on in Corby going forward: An update on future developments
Following a surge in the housing market earlier this year, Great Oakley has re-released the first 270 plots on Phase 8 to prospective housebuilders partners. Bids from interested parties were received in early June, and the company is in the process of interviewing shortlisted housebuilders before deciding who will bring these homes to life.
