Exam roundup for schools in Corby

A massive congratulations to those who have received their A-levels, GSCEs and BTEC results here in Oakley Vale. We are all immensely proud of your achievements!

A Levels

Well done to students from Brooke Weston Academy, Corby Technical School and Corby Business Academy on another set of exceptional A Level results.

  • Students nervously lined up to collect their results from Corby Technical School before collecting a fantastic set of results. One of its students will head off to an Oxbridge University, whilst another has been accepted onto a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship for Leicestershire constabulary!
  • A-Level results day marked a morning of fantastic accomplishments and staff full of pride at Corby Business Academy as students will now be embarking on their next steps in education or the world of work. The wonderful students, families, and staff have all took part in creating a positive learning culture throughout Brooke Weston Trust.
  • Brooke Weston Academy were delighted that over 70% of students secured place at universities, with the remainder opting for professional or vocational apprenticeships. Its top-performing students collectively achieved 10 A* grades between them!

GCSEs

  • Brooke Weston Academy celebrates another successful GCSE results day, with the majority of students staying at its sixth form to study their A-Levels. The rest have secured prestigious apprenticeships or will continue their education at other local colleges or sixth forms!
  • Corby Technical School saw exceptional achievements from students, especially in its Art department which is celebrating standout results.
  • Corby Business Academy continued its upward trend in overall national progress with students picking up remarkable results on GCSE results day. Many of its students have selected the academy for their next phase of education.

What’s On in Corby

Country Fest – Held at the picturesque backdrop of Deene Park, Country Fest returns on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of September. You will be able to enjoy a variety of activities including a show arena, pets corner, fair rides, food village and more! For more information, visit HERE.

Autumn Artisan Fair – Enjoy the Artisan Fair which is being held at the stunning grounds of Rockingham Castle. You will be able to take a walk around the gorgeous gardens whilst browsing a wide range of food, drink and crafts. For more information on the event, visit HERE.

Street Food Saturdays – East Carlton Countryside Park will see the return of the very best street food traders this September. Sport in Corby

It has been yet another busy month of sport in Oakley Vale, here is a selection of our highlights:

Corby Town FC – The Steelmen have kicked off the season in fine form. They currently boast a 100% record, winning all 4 of their matches. This strong start sees the team sit at the top of the Northern Midlands table. A brilliant beginning to the season!

Stewart and Lloyd’s Corby Cricket Club – We recently saw a record breaking innings in the S&L second team. Rodrigo recorded a staggering score of 183 not out, a record score for an S&L player. This magnificent innings steered the team to victory. A real masterclass in batting!
