Now that the Christmas season has come to an end and with Blue Monday just around the corner, we’ve got a few evergreen tips to ensure a great start to 2025.

This year is packed with exciting events, both locally and nationally. Mark your calendars as here are the top things to do in and around Corby.

 

  • Burns Night – Saturday 20 January

Celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns with a traditional supper.

Whether it’s reciting poetry, eating haggis and neeps, or drinking a dram of whisky, we can’t wait. You can enjoy these Scottish traditions with fellow enthusiasts as Corby and East Northants CLP hosts its annual Burns Supper.

 

  • RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch – Sunday 26 to Tuesday 28 January

Join the nation in this world-leading garden wildlife survey in Corby. Anyone can – you don’t need any fancy equipment or knowledge!

How? Choose an hour to count the birds you see in your garden, balcony, or local park. Send your results to the RSPB on its website. You’ll be contributing to valuable data that helps scientists understand bird populations and their habitats!

 

  • Strictly Corby – Friday 14 March

Support Lakelands Hospice by cheering on local dancers as they take the stage for this exciting charity event. Tickets will go on public release on Monday 27 January. Contestants have just been chosen and will be partnered with professionals from MaSh Dance school!

Each contestant aims to raise £2000 for the valuable work of Lakelands Hospice. Donate to the campaign here.

 

  • Corby Pride – Saturday 7 June

Celebrate love and diversity with a parade, live music, and a family-friendly atmosphere at Coronation Park. Keep up to date with our socials for more info, closer to the time!

  • Royal Ascot – Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 June

Will you be dressing in your finest attire and heading to the races this year? Don’t worry – neither! Host your very own Royal Ascot party (and make sure to tag us!) with selfies wearing a stylish hat and best dress!

 

  • Highland Gathering – Saturday 12 July – Sunday 13 July

Immerse yourself in Scottish traditions at Charter Field, featuring centuries-old Highland games, captivating music, lively dancing and more.

  • Women’s Rugby World Cup – 22 August to 27 September

Cheer on the Red Roses as they compete for the world championship. There are plenty of pubs in Corby to enjoy the matches live. We’ll be compiling a list of spots to enjoy the action.
