Celebrating Corby’s 75th anniversary at the Oakley Fest
We’re thrilled to report that Oakley Fest was another great success, bringing together over 1,000 people for a very special occasion – Corby’s 75th anniversary!
On Saturday, 5 July, families enjoyed a bustling atmosphere, exploring over 50 local independent businesses showcasing everything from delicious treats and handcrafted goods to unique artworks.
A diverse lineup of local talent, including ukulele groups, youth dancers, a DJ, magicians, and even a CPR group sharing vital information, brought entertainment throughout the day, making sure there was something for everyone to enjoy. Beyond the stalls, there was a bouncy castle, archery, and Lisa’s Laughter Yoga to keep us all busy. The special exhibition dedicated to Corby’s 75th anniversary added a memorable touch to the day of fun and community spirit.
The event highlighted the warmth and talent within our local community, reminding us why Corby is such a special place. Organised by a dedicated committee of ten and supported by Corby Town Council and the 7th Corby Scout Group, who also ran a popular BBQ, Oakley Fest built connections and celebrated our shared pride.
