Happy Friday and Happy 2018 folks! We are well into the new year now and we hope that it has served you well so far. We are all rested here and ready for 2018 and we already have a couple of great updates that we’re really pleased to share with you.
Firstly we are thrilled with the submissions we have already had from you the local residents of Oakley Vale – there are beautiful wildlife shots, some soaring sunsets and fantastically crafted snowmen built during that amazing snow we saw late last year.
You can see all the submissions so far on our Photo Competition page and you can even give your favourite picture a thumbs up – which will be counted towards deciding the winning photo when the first competition ends at the end of February! You’ve all really embraced the Wintertime theme and there’s still plenty of time to get your submission in.
Our second update is that we have a new profile that has been added to our ‘I love it here…‘ page! It comes courtesy of local resident Sam Sheppard who moved to Oakley Vale a little over six months ago. Her answers to our questions are a great insight to those who have just moved to our community. So have a read of it here and thank you to Sam for taking the time to answer our questions.
Now after those updates here’s a look at what’s on over the next few weeks:
Corby Amateur Theatrical Society: Aladdin @ The Core – All this weekend – Widow Twankey wants a husband, evil Abanazar wants the magic lamp, Aladdin wants adventure and Wishee-Washee wants a clean vest; can the Genie grant their wishes? Get tickets and find out!
Learn Gaelic Songs w/ Deep Roots – Sat 13th – Mon 15th Jan – Would you like to learn traditional Gaelic songs? If so, join Deep Roots and Scottish singer and musician, Mary Ann Kennedy for a wonderful weekend of singing. Find out how to get involved on their Facebook page.
Sarah Millican: Control Enthusiast – 19th Jan & 20th Jan – Sarah Millican is not a control freak, she’s a control enthusiast. She even controls her own insults, see? Do you arrange the nights out? Are you in charge of passports on holiday? Then so are you! This wildly popular comedian comes to Corby – get tickets!
Have a great weekend everyone and here’s to a happy and healthy 2018!
