Happy Friday everyone!
We hope you’ve had a great week and the kids are ready for their return to school. We have a few things to update you on this week!
Charity success for Lakeland Hopsice
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Lakeland Hospice which is based in Oakley Vale and has been working hard to raise funds.
Kingsgate Academy in Corby raised over £360 for the hospice with their non-uniform day and elsewhere staff at Puredrive Fine Foods took on the challenge to collectively cycle the distance to their new factory in Oss in the Netherlands and back to Corby. They did this by taking it in turns in 30-minute sessions on a cycling machine in the staff canteen. They raised over £500 for the hospice!
Last year we profiled the Fundraising Manager at Lakeland Hopsice, Paul Marlow – you can read it here!
Have your say on Corby policing
Corby police are encouraging the public to have their say on Corby’s policing priorities for 2018! Last year, as a result of requests and feedback, the police force worked with Northants Fire and Rescue Service to raise awareness in Oakley Vale around parking and speeding.
Given recent concerns that have been raised both to us and others, perhaps the speeding that often takes place on Butland Road could be a focus of the police’s attention this year? What do you think?
